Features of Our Custom Wine Cellar Doors

All of our doors come pre-hung, with a 4-9/16” jamb, laminated veneer lumber (LVL Core) guaranteed not to warp, automatic door bottom, weather stripping, commercial grade hinges, and interior and exterior case moldings.

Stains add a more luxurious look to custom wine cellar doors. We have six stains to choose from, which all come with a lacquer finish. Other door options include square or round top, distressing, glass etching, and carvings for additional aesthetics.

Thermally Insulated Dual Pane Glass to Achieve Optimum Wine Storage Conditions

To protect the structural integrity of the wine rooms we build, we use 1/2-inch thick dual pane glass on our doors. After attaching two glass panes, we seal all of the edges and leave a thin space in between them. These steps help eliminate condensation around the glass or the entire door.

Without the sealing components, humidity levels in your wine cellar will not fall within the ideal range, which is 60 to 70 percent. High humidity levels will trigger mold growth on the wine racks, labels, in the walls, and ceiling. Mold and mildew can also grow on the cork, which can have adverse effects on the wine’s taste and aroma.

Innovative Technology in Custom Wine Cellar Door Construction

LVL Technology for Mannufacturing Exterior Grade Custom Wine Cellar Doors

Our doors are engineered using the LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) technology, which is an advanced method of building quality door stiles to reduce warping and shrinking. In this process, the multiple layers of thin wood are connected using adhesives.

Mortise & Tenon Construction

Mortise and Tenon is an old and simple method but is one of the strongest techniques in building strong wood doors and furniture. The two components of the door (Mortise and Tenon) are interlocked together at a 90-degree angle to create durable corners.

A mortise is a piece of wood where a tenon is attached. A tenon is the end portion of wood that fits into a mortise.

Old-World Carvings & Distressing for Wooden Custom Wine Cellar Doors

Carving the door is a great way to make ordinary doors look extraordinary. It allows you to incorporate your own design that reflects your taste and preference. The most common carving on the door is the grapevine design.

Distressed doors give the worn or antiquated look without compromising the security of a solid, newly consructed door. Scuffing the paint and building up false dirt are some of the ways to distress a door. All distressing and designs are done using a hand-hewn process. This means that no power tools or high-tech machinery is required.

Glass Etching: a Unique Way to Add a Personalized Touch to Your Entryway

You can enhance the mood of your wine cellar by incorporating beautiful etched glass on your door. This is a good option for homeowners who do not want their prized wines to be completely visible from the outside. Etched glass adds a little privacy to a room. However, we do not recommend etched glass in commercial wine cellars because the wines have to be displayed attractively to entice buyers.

When it comes to the designs, there are limitless options. Famous etched designs can be your favorite scenery, wine related images, or any design that you want to incorporate on your custom wine cellar door.

Hand-Forged Black IronWork

If you want a door with an old-world look, we offer hand-forged black iron work. All hardware is hand-forged by skilled ironworkers who have carried on the tradition. We can incorporate intricate designs to add appeal to your wine cellar.
